KUALA LUMPUR

Back in good ole KL ....... all very familiar and all very relaxing. Spent a few days shopping, getting bits and pieces, sorting finances etc ....... before heading down to Tioman Island where South Pacific was filmed so long ago ........

After 10 days on Tioman (which was lovely and where I took an advanced open water diving course) returned to KL for 3 nights before flying out to Kuching in Sarawak, Borneo.

TIOMAN ISLAND

Arrived on the Island after a long bus / ferry journey from KL ........ we decided to stay at Panuba Inn as the huts there all face the sea and it's pretty laid back and quiet. Found out a little later that the whole island is not what one would call 'buzzing' but this is exactly what makes the place so special.

Spent 10 days just generally lazing about, eating and enjoying the sun (and boy was it hot). Having said that I did complete my Advanced Open Water Diving course and walk to Juara and back (20 hard kms through some amazing primary jungle). We also walked to Salang and back through the jungle ....... very beautiful .... saw 6ft monitor lizards, Monkeys, birds etc ......

Enjoyed the islands duty free status with (rather a lot) of Tigers whilst watching the sun go down in the evenings .........
