CHIANG MAI

Arrived in Chiang Mai from Laos via an 'interesting prop plane run by Laos Airlines. Sign of things to come when we noticed that one of the plane tyre appeared to be a little flat. It was OK though because one of the flight engineers went over, kicked it, made a face then walked off! Take off was a little wobbly (as was the landing ... during which the cockpit door flew open) but we made it!

Great to be back in Thailand where things are a lot more familiar and the infrastructure is so much better. Probably only felt this way as I was still feeling distinctly unwell following the food poisoning incident in Laos. Took taxi to Hotel and simply stayed in to enjoy the luxury of cable TV!

Chiang Mai is a lovely town / city with a laid back feel but with really bad traffic / footpaths! Emma enrolled on a 5 day / 30 hour Thai Massage course which left me to wander the streets and explore the town ..... this I did big time walking miles to the outskirts each day. Emma came back in the evenings and practised all that she had learnt ........

Following the Thai massage course Emma enrolled on a cookery course, unfortunately I did not get to taste the fruit of her labours ...........

managed to get replacement lens ordered for the glasses that I broke in Koh Lanta but when i went to pick them up they had accidentally switched the lenses so the glasses were useless ... re-ordered and am due to pick up on Monday.
